Yacht Club
A bahamas yacht club, The Green Turtle Yacht Club was established in the 1970's by Allan Charlesworth, original owner of The Green Turtle Club. At that time, he also owned the Birdham Yacht Club on Chichester Harbour in West Sussex, England.
Green Turtle Yacht Club members receive special discounts at The Green Turtle Club Resort and Marina, as well as discounts on entry fees for the annual fishing tournament and regatta, and special boat dockage and anchorage privileges at the marinas facilities. For boat owners using the Green Turtle Club facilities, the annual renewal fee is quickly returned in discount savings. The Green Turtle Yacht Club has affiliations with the Palm Beach Yacht Club, the Royal Yachting Association of England, and the Eau Gallie Yacht Club, where members receive reciprocations. Each summer, under the direction of Commodore Ken Batzer, The Green Turtle Yacht Club hosts its "Round the Giant Turtle Race", a sailing regatta for the Bahamas Cup and the Yacht Club Challenge for the Victor Ludorum Trophy.
